Children's Art
Foundation Project

CHILDREN’S ART FOUNDATION is a recognized art education program in the State of Guanajuato, Mexico. Its Literacy Through Art program serves children who live in marginal communities outside of the historic town of San Miguel de Allende. Some are orphans or street kids of San Miguel de Allende living below poverty level and in remote communities.

The Literacy Through Art education program offers children a chance to experience the joy of childhood and the excitement of creativity. Besides learning how to express themselves through painting and writing children also develop important social skills, teamwork, self-confidence and enhanced self-esteem in a fun learning environment. Children’s best work is published in a small bilingual book Creative Children of San Miguel.

Amistad Canada’s Literacy Through Art project contributes to the salary of teachers who work with the children. In addition Amistad’s project assists in the purchase of art supplies for the program.
