Amistad Canada partners with Centro Infantil de los Ángeles to create a brighter future for 20 vulnerable babies
Centro Infantil de los Ángeles is excited to enter into a partnership with Amistad Canada to provide all-day daycare for 20 vulnerable babies in San Miguel de Allende, aged two months to one year. The babies are being enrolled in the first year of a six-year daycare/preschool serving families who earn less than 7,000 pesos a month (about CAD$550).
Centro Infantil prepares disadvantaged children to succeed in the Mexican public education system and in adult life and helps families understand and cope with issues including learning disabilities and family violence.
Each infant benefits from enriched learning, care, nutrition, medical/dental, developmental and social services … all in a safe, enriching and loving environment. For families, particularly single parent families, this is life‑changing. Reliable, high‑quality care allows parents to work, study, and stabilize their lives. It reduces stress, strengthens households, and creates a foundation for long‑term economic mobility.
High quality early childhood education is the first, most critical investment in a child’s brain, identity, and sense of belonging. In the first three years of life, babies form more than a million neural connections per second. That pace never returns. What happens now shapes everything that comes later — language, confidence, emotional resilience, problem‑solving, and the ability to thrive in school and community.
In a loving daycare setting, professional caregivers maximize this special time with cuddles, responsive talking, and interactive reading. Babies wrapped in a language-rich environment naturally boost their early communication and motor skills.
