Dear Friends of Opera de San Miguel:
I hope you’re enjoying the summer. It’s been five months since Concurso San Miguel 2025!
At this time, we would like to know your plans for the snowbird season. We know many of you arrive in San Miguel well before the Winter, and would like to know if we can count on you for a couple of pre-season fund-raisers we are planning for the late Autumn, mainly:
—A wine tasting, concert and dinner at a new winery, Ineffable Vineyards, owned by our Angels Fernando and Lorena Valadés.
—An evening of food, wine and song at Aguamiel, catered by our Angels Jim McKeever and Alfredo García Lucio.
Please let us know in a reply mail what your general arrival plans are, or if you are in SMA already so that we can count you in.
We are now preparing our 22nd OSM season for 2026, and would like to share with you our plans so you can save the dates. More detailed information regarding these traditional OSM events will be forthcoming:
January 8, 9 & 10: Auditions for Concurso San Miguel XVII *

January 31: The 10th Mexico-Canada Concert
February 23 to 27: Concurso Week *

The first semester of this year has been quite prolific in terms of performances, invitations, contracts and other activities for our singers. Included herewith is a downloadable PDF of the January-July 2025 OSM Highlights Newsletter I’ve assembled, with news about our singers’ engagements and the projects they are undertaking as they build their careers in the world of opera, including past winners, finalists and special guests of Concurso San Miguel.
Please share the attached newsletter with your friends, who might also become involved with the future of Opera de San Miguel!
I take advantage of the opportunity to invite you to become Angels of the Opera, because your contributions are vital in helping us achieve our mission as a private, non-profit charitable organization in Mexico devoted to identifying and encouraging young opera singers of Mexico through our yearly Concurso San Miguel.
Your donations allow us to offer educational opportunities by providing scholarships, prize incentives and international opportunities for our finalists and winners.
Sincerely,
Charles OppenheimArtistic DirectorOpera de San Miguelwww.operadesanmiguel.org+52-55-3977-8556choppenheim@operadesanmiguel.org
