Centro Infantil de los Ángeles (CILA) is proud to announce that we are now an official project partner of Amistad Canada, a registered Canadian charity that enables Canadians and Mexicans to collaborate on projects that improve the quality of life for people in need throughout Mexico.
This partnership is a game changer for our early childhood education program—and we need your help to spread the word to all your Canadian relatives, friends and contacts.

What This Means for CILA
Thanks to this partnership, Canadian donors can now receive official tax receipts for their contributions to CILA. This opens up new opportunities for fundraising and allows us to expand our reach to supporters across Canada who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families in San Miguel de Allende.
CILA is now one of only 15 partner organizations working with Amistad Canada across Mexico, and we are honored to join this distinguished group of nonprofits dedicated to health and education initiatives.

Celebrating Our First Day of School
|
|
We are thrilled to share that our first day of school on August 31 was a huge success! The children celebrated with a special cake, and we served the highest number of children since the pandemic—164 children in total. This milestone included our newest class of 20 babies in the newly opened infant classroom, who are now thriving in a safe, nurturing environment.

This growth reflects the trust families place in CILA and the vital role our programs play in supporting vulnerable children and their caregivers in San Miguel de Allende.

Why Your Support Matters More Than Ever
|
Our new early childhood education project, which launched on August 24, 2026, provides free, full-day care, nutrition, health monitoring, developmental support, and family social work services to 20 vulnerable infants throughout their first year of life.
These 20 babies come from families living in extreme poverty in San Miguel de Allende. Their families earn 7,000 pesos a month or less—which means they are in the lowest 10% income group in Mexico. Can you imagine what it would be like to live on US$400 or Cdn$550 a month? What if you were a single mother with a new infant who, without daycare, can’t work or get more education without putting their baby at risk?
