Tepoz Rosa A.C. continues to grow and serve more women in the municipality of Tepoztlán thanks to your support.
Since January 2026, we have performed 1251 early detection screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer. These are the two leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Mexico, yet both are 95% curable when detected early. Our partner, the Luis Pasteur Foundation, which collaborates with us on cervical cancer screening, began using the most advanced screening method currently available during our most recent campaign (July 6, 2026): liquid-based Pap test, which helps detect more in a more reliable any anomaly.
We are also offering breast and pelvic ultrasounds to women beginning at age 18 for a voluntary contribution of $100 pesos ( $6 USD) Our database now includes nearly 6,000 women, with comprehensive records of their personal information, screening history, test results, and recommended follow-up schedules. In 2026, we celebrate 13 years of providing free mammograms to women between the ages of 49 and 60. In our ongoing effort to reach younger women, we are now offering gynecological consultations in our newly opened medical offices (donated by Renny Dale) for a contribution of just $150 pesos ($8 USD).
We continue supporting women who have been diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer by providing transportation and logistical assistance so they can access the medical care they need—a growing challenge as Mexico’s public healthcare system becomes increasingly overburdened. We also provide consultations with a nutritionist and a grief counselor, facilitate support groups, and help purchase medications whenever necessary.
To raise funds for our programs, we held a fundraising luncheon last December at Casa Fernanda, generously donated by María Elena Herrera and Arturo Contreras. Our annual brunch in Cuernavaca was a great success, featuring an engaging and entertaining presentation by Janet Dawson. The 2026 calendar/cookbook sold very well, and we are already preparing the 2027 edition.
