Beyond the Plate: A Comprehensive Approach to Child Nutrition. A meal is the starting point, but real transformation happens when nutrition becomes a system of care. In 2025, the Feed the Hungry Nutrition Program reached deeper into the lives of children and families than ever before, combining science, education, and community partnership across 39 school kitchens and 7 charitable institutions. Congratulations to Caminos de Agua Founder and Executive Director Dylan Terrell on being named as 2025 Rotary Citizen of the Year in San Miguel de Allende. Through a participatory, community-led model (supported in part by donations made via Amistad Canada), Caminos de Agua empowers residents to design, build, and maintain water solutions. Watch video of the Rotary ceremony HERE.  On March 19, EEESMA–School for the Deaf held an introductory meeting with families of Deaf children in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. The goal was to provide parents with information and support to help their kids achieve a fufilling, independent life. Also, some EEESMA students recently went golfing. In 2025, la Biblioteca SMA offered 4,000 hours of classes, checked out 13,000 books, supported 100 students with scholarships and welcomed 16,000 people to various events. Much of the work can be done remotely, but the person should be in San Miguel during high season. English is required and Spanish is an asset. If you’re a self-starter with good organizational and people skills, contact President Michael Pearl.   Jóvenes Adelante welcomes English-speaking volunteers to provide extra practice for students in its ‘English as a Foreign Language’ (EFL) Tutoring Program. JA is also recruiting new Mentors.
